How HK is tackling shadow companies

New legislation in Hong Kong should make it quicker, easier and cheaper for IP owners to deal with the problem of companies that pass themselves off as one of their legitimate subsidiaries.

The Companies (Amendment) Bill 2010 was introduced into the Legislative Council for its first reading on February 3.

"This is a huge, huge improvement," said Gabriella Kennedy, a partner of Lovells in Hong Kong.
