Our client is seeking an experienced attorney to work in Beijing, PRC to assist the company in its continuing commitment to comply with laws, regulations and policies governing its business, finance, and accounting activities.

This position will be responsible for providing oversight of and hands-on direction and advice in the end-to-end process of conducting internal investigations, including directly participating in conducting certain investigations. The person who takes this position will be primarily responsible for compliance-investigation issues arising in the Greater China Region (PRC, Taiwan, and Hong Kong) and will travel as necessary to accomplish her or his objectives. In addition, this attorney will identify and work with appropriate managers, compliance committees and others to implement remediation plans, and assist in compliance assessments, readiness, outreach, and training.

This attorney will work with a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team both in-region and in the corporate headquarters in US.

The person we are seeking has great interpersonal, collaboration, communication, and interviewing skills, outstanding analytical and writing ability, strong drive and enthusiasm, and the capacity to work under pressure and deadlines.

This attorney also will possess a firm understanding of relevant compliance rules and requirements, including the laws and regulations governing U.S. companies doing business in non-U.S. locations, as well as an appreciation of pertinent accounting and finance principles. Furthermore, the best candidate for this position will have a strong grasp of the employment, privacy, and other requirements relating to internal investigations.
The ideal candidate will have:

· A J.D. or equivalent from a reputable academic institution;
· At least 10 years in a government agency, law firm, or in-house legal department;
· Familiarity and experience in dealing with compliance and/or internal investigations in a multi-national company or other large complex organization;
· Excellent writing, oral, and interpersonal skills;
· The ability to apply sound, principled, and consistent judgment in a fast-moving and challenging legal and business environment; and
· The ability to analyze complex financial, business, and legal issues and communicate them in a clear and concise fashion.
· Fluency in English and Chinese languages (both written and oral), and knowledge of the business and social cultures are a plus.
